9 months old

Happy 9 months to me! It's that time of the month again and boy what a month I have had!!!! Lot's of new things happened to me........I had my first case of gastro (stomach flu) Whoa, didn't like that too much at all. Spent a day throwing up and having a lot of very bad nappies (sorry mum and dad!) I could still eat but really didn't feel like milk. Even after I recovered I was not drinking my milk as I was a bit lactose intolerant for about 10 days....and now I have become very fussy with my food. Mummy always said I was a "great" eater but Mummy should learn never to brag shouldn't she!!!!! I'm really not crazy about vegetables anymore and instead of eating what is on the end of the spoon I usually flick it off and see how far I can send it. It usually lands on the floor or the wall but I LOVE it when it lands on Mummy.....that always gets the best reaction (yep, not sure if it's a good reaction) I would like to eat apple at every meal if I could and I have noticed that Mummy is getting very clever at 'disguising' my meat and vegetables amongst the apples...hey mummy, look out, I am on to you!!!! I do love to eat vegemite on toast or avocado but just not too keen on anything else but hey.....do I look like a baby that needs feeding or is lacking in food??????? I don't think so.

I now have 2 little toothy pegs on the bottom row and I love to try out my new teeth. I am getting more teeth for sure as I have had many a painful day trying to chomp and chew on everything and there has been enough dribble and drool running down my chin to fill a bath tub. I really struggle with the whole teething thing, it's really not fun at all. ALSO, I have had a cold for most of this month, runny nose, bad cough etc. Apparantly big sister Sophie brings home all kinds of bugs and sickness from her kindy and shares them with me although she doesn't get sick herself.....have I mentioned how good she is at sharing????? Yep, thanks Sophie!

I am getting a lot more mobile and am now crawling all over the place and into everything...look out world! I get plonked down on the floor with toys around me and I immediately bypass the toys and head straight for the vertical blinds or the heater (it's off, don't worry I won't burn!) I am infatuated with keys, mobile phones and remote controls. What I don't get is why I am not allowed any of these....there seem to be no shortages of remote controls around here, enough to go around. I love to play with cars (toy ones of course) or anything with wheels. I straight away turn the toy upside down and study the wheels, it always looks like I am studying how they work. I can also pull myself up and stand for a long time. It's just so much fun practising all these new things I have learnt.

Now I suppose you are all wondering........do I sleep better????? Well, I have improved and I was quite good there for a little while but then I got sick and I needed Mummy a lot in the night and of course in she came to cater to my every need and want and now of course I quite liked that, so even though I am better I have taken to waking up a lot and crying for Mummy to come in BUT, she's not doing it as much anymore so I usually just have a little cry and then just go back to sleep by myself. I usually go to bed at 6pm (wake between 3 and 7 times throughout the night, briefly cry) then I wake between 5 or 6 am and then I play in my cot for about 30 minutes before Mummy or Daddy (when he is home) gets me up to start the day. During the day I have 2 naps anywhere between 1 hour - 2.5 hours! Mummy says I am great to go out with and I usually just have a little nap in the car or in my pram if I get tired. Mummy says I am a 'happy tired baby' meaning, when I am very very tired I can still manage to smile and be happy! Actually I am very easy going!

Here are some photos......can you see my hair is growing!

Daddy's away

Hi there,

It's all quiet in the house( apart from the many sounds Luc makes!!!) as daddys' gone away on the plane to work. He is on a ship in the middle of the ocean climbing stuff and fixing stuff and looking at sharks in the water!!! I am really missing him a lot and I still have 9 sleeps to go before he comes home :-( But Mummy says Daddy has to work so that he can make money so that I get to buy new shoes and stuff and Luc can get socks and Sasha the dog gets tennis balls!!!! When daddy comes back I am going to tell him that we dont need to buy Sasha more tennis balls because she just chews them all up anyway, so, now we don't need money for tennis balls, maybe he won't have to work anymore and we can spend more time at the park practising the monkey bars!!!!!! Sometimes I am amazed at how clever I can be!!!

Oh yeah, speaking of clever, guess who is crawling.......no, it's not me (although of course I can and I am very fast at it!!) Luc the wonder boy is crawling......

Hellooooooo, yes, it has been a while. It's been busy in my world. Just came back from seeing Shrek 3. It is my second time to see it. Today I went with Nanny and it was just as funny as the first time I went with Aunty Emily a couple of weeks ago. We were meant to go to the circus today but we couldn't get a ticket and just as well as it is raining 'cats and dogs' here at the moment. Now, what DOES that mean. Mummy says it all the time, 'it's raining cats and dogs' BUT I sure don't see any cats and dogs coming down from the sky......just lots and lots of rain. We sure need the rain because we don't get much and it makes all the farmers sad because their stuff doesn't grow (not sure what stuff they are talking about) Oh yeah, I remember it is wheat, the wheat doesn't grow if it doesn't rain!!! Yes, I may be only 4.5 years old but I am a bundle of information these days. Question after question after question and lots of how comes and whys thrown in as well!!! Mummy say's I am like a sponge as I absorb information...(gosh, my mum sure does say some strange things, I mean how am I like a sponge. I look nothing at all like 'Spongebob squarepants'!!!
Hmm, what else, I got my 3rd 'star of the day' certificate at kindy. This time I got it for 'always allowing everyone to play with me'!!! Mrs Huggins (my teacher) said I am very caring and it is always nice of me to play with everyone and look after them if they are sad. Mummy said it is a very nice quality to have. What is quality??
Ok, better go, we have lots of people coming over for dinner and Mummy is cooking and cleaning like a mad woman (that's what daddy said) and I think she needs some help. Be back soon.
Love Sophie

Daddy goes to Kindy!!

Daddy did 'kindy roster' on Friday afternoon. He is only the second Daddy to come to do the roster. It just means they are the helper for the afternoon. He was a really really good helper and so so funny. All the kids liked my daddy because he had to talk about his work and when he said he was....'kind of like spiderman', well, that really got everybody's attention. Even I learnt something about what daddy does. He really is very clever as not many people can do his work. All along when someone asked me what daddy did, I use to just say, he climbs stuff!!! Now I can say, he is just like 'SPIDERMAN'!!!!!! It gets a much better reaction!
Daddy had fun at Kindy, he liked meeting all my friends and talking to my teacher but best of all, I LOVED that he was there and can't wait for him to come again.
Here is the photos I took to kindy of my 'spiderman' daddy, the only difference is that my daddy uses ropes to climb with and 'spiderman' spins his own web!!!! But that is really the only difference. Oh yeah, and he doesn't wear a spiderman outfit, he has to wear overalls. Yep, that's it, only 2 differences otherwise exactly the same.

Oh, the Cuteness!!

I am a really good help looking after my baby brother. I know this because Mummy and Daddy always tell me so. I love to make him laugh because he sounds just so cute. Whenever I hear him wake up from his sleep I always go in and keep him company or play with him till Mummy is 'ready' to get him out of his bed!!!! Usually I just sit by his cot and we hold hands through the bars but today I decided to get in the cot and lie down and give him cuddles and read stories. We stayed like this for 20 minutes before Luc got sick of me and wanted Mummy but Mummy was happy as she got the dinner cooked and tha vacuuming done in that time plus when she walked in to the room she was overcome by the cuteness of it all!!!!!! (what does that mean?????)

love Sophie

We all went to the football yesterday. We saw East Perth play West Perth and they got beaten (badly beaten) BUT, it was such good fun. The best fun of all was when the siren went at each quater and we got to run onto the oval and kick the football around. Lots of people were on the oval and there were footballs flying everywhere. My friend Ella and her little brother Hudson were there and so was Jacky-boy and Aunty Emily.
Luc had fun too, brushing up on his football knowledge and studying the the 'stats' magazine on all the players. (see the photo) He was so funny. He loved the footy as well. He sat in his pram like a good little boy and watched and then had a little nap. When he woke up a woman was sitting in his view of the game and he was very vocal in letting us know he couldn't see anymore so we had to move him so he could see and then he was happy.
You can see in the photos. Daddy playing with Jacky Boy and me and then Ella, Jack and I with Aunty Em at the fence waiting to fly the flag when East Perth got a goal.....(we had to wait a lobg time for that!!!!!) So it was a great day and Ella's Daddy bought us all an ice cream. Ella's mummy had another baby last week, a little boy called Lincoln and he is so cute.
Bye Bye
Love Sophie

Dancing with Sophie

Yes, it has started. I am pulled and stretched in every direction. I sit next to her and play dolls houses for ages....actually I don't really play as much as 'destroy', oh yes, and then I get in trouble with her for 'messing everything up'.
I have even had pink headbands, ribbons and necklaces placed on me and here in this photo, I am having my first..."ballet" lesson!!!! THEN, she tells Mummy, I can't wait till Luc is big enough for 'playing dress ups', I can put him in my purple tutu! AAAHHHHHHH, somebody please give me a footy or a truck or something I can hammer!!! I might only be 8 months old but I am not really into all this girly stuff. I much prefer playing with little cars and turning them over to figure out how the wheels work. I love to bang things on the ground and put everything in my mouth and slobber all over it and try out my 2 new teeth, see how much chewing I can do before I get busted and the item is ripped from me so fast I scream.

Anyway, one good thing.......at the health clinic check up the other day the clinic nurse measured me and said I was 69 cm long and that wait for it.......I am going to be tall!!!!! I am 5 whole cm taller than Sophie was at the same age as me now!!!!! What the??? Apparently I have been born into a family of shorties so this news was a great surprise. However Mummy says I must take after Pepere, he has the height in the family. I am so glad because you know what that means.......the purple tutu won't fit me after all!!!!!!! Yippeee

Lucs confirmation
